Surprise visit!

My doorbell rang shortly after 8 o' clock this morning.
I drag my lazy FaceBooking from my BlackBerry buns out of bed to the door. I peek out and I behold one of my dearest friends! I quickly open the door and hug Amy and then realize 3 things:

1. I haven't brushed my teeth yet.

2. I have no bra on. (Nursing boobs should not be allowed to roam free in public).

3. My house is a trashed mess!

I could add a number 4 in there, but we all know I don't always wear make-up despite the fact that I look way better with it on.

I let her in with a giant warning of a cps worthy mess. She so kindly reminded me that the first time she ever came over I was in my unmentionables and had to quickly throw clothes on before I let her in only to see pancakes torn up all over the carpet and some nursing pads flung around just for good measure. Then I realized something. This is how my heaven on earth looks most days when there is a baby I am nurturing day and night. And I realized, I am okay with that. Until I can't stand it for one second longer, then I have a freak out moment and everyone pitches in so I can experience cleanliness for a few hours...or minutes...you know how it goes with a lot of little people running around.

Back to my dear friend Amy. She moved to Utah almost 2 years ago. Two years already! She lived just down the street and oh how I miss having her there. She is a true friend who takes you how you are. She has 5 handsome boys! What a fantastic mom she is! I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends surrounding me who set such a great example.

My day couldn't have started out any better. Well, waking up to a clean house would have been nice. But waking up to a visit from a great friend and finally getting to introduce her to yet another pride and joy is a great start to a beautiful day!

Saying Goodbye

On Monday we took full advantage knowing that our friends were in town at their house. Their house that they hadn't been to in months. We knew it would be our last time seeing them for awhile. And the last time hanging out with them at their house with the most awesome tree house that their dad built with his own two hands.

We had a good time visiting and playing. At the same time there was a sadness and a longing. A longing to have the whole family back. Back to the way it use to be.

We are so grateful and feel so blessed to have had the Nielson's in our ward and as good friends. I continue to miss seeing them in the mornings walking to the bus stop. I miss having the kids come knocking on the door to play. I miss trading babysitting. I miss calling Stephanie and discussing LOST episodes. I miss not having the chance to show off my baby. There is so much more that I miss.
Above all, I miss HER.
This family will always have a special place in our hearts.

Here is a news clip Christian did while he was here and here is the entire uncut version.

Happy Birthday Heather!!!

You are such a wonderful friend and I am so grateful that we have managed to stay in touch for so many years!
Did you know that we have known eachother for over 18 years?!
That makes us sound SOOO old!
*Thanks for being the only one who wanted to play with me on the playground when I was the new girl at school!
*Thanks for all the laughs in Mr. Bones class!
*Thanks for sticking up for me whenever Vernee was rude to me! (she probably just thought I wasn't good enough to be your best friend)
*Thanks for the all expenses paid to summer camp with you and to your mom for a card in the mail EVERY single day!
*Thanks for not laughing at me when I was hanging out at your house when my mom called to tell me my hampster died and I bawled my eyes out!
*Thanks for not getting mad at me when I dropped a huge bowl of water all over your parents nice wood floors!
*Thanks for being I think the only other girl to skinny dip at one of your birthday parties!
*Thanks for being the friend that got their very first bra with me!
*Thanks for letting me eat at your house even when you weren't hungry!
*Thanks for letting me spend the night all those bazillion times!
*And for not calling me a baby when I brought my blanket with me every single time!
*Thanks for daring me to slide down the water fall at Riverside park in my clothes so that I would always remember how embarrassing it was to have a wet muddy butt and your mom yell at us for wondering off!
*Thanks for telling me how beautiful I was all growing up even though I didn't really believe you, coming from one of the most talented beautiful girls I've ever known!
*Thanks for all the memories and so many more that I didn't mention!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you so much and will forever and ever!
I am so happy that you have such a wonderful family and a happy wonderful life!
Oh, and so so sorry for busting a gut laughing when you did that front flip off my trampoline onto your stomach and landed on the brick steps! It really did look quite amazing and funny!
Good thing my mom was there to comfort you since I was clearly not in the right state of mind to do so myself.

Girls Night Out!

While the boys were gone on the Father and Sons Campout I got to have a girls night out! My friend Amy is moving to Utah at the end of the month so it was perfect to get to go hang out. I sent my girls to my sister in laws to spend the night cuz I had to go to clinic early Saturday morning. Me, Melodie and Amy went to Red Robin for dinner and then went and saw Blades of Glory. It was hilarious, even for the 2nd time for me! After the movie we went back to Melodie's, her house was empty too, and chatted till 1am. Then Melodie drove me down the street to my house and we talked even longer about all the times we have peed our pants just a little bit. We about peed our pants then laughing so hard cuz we could relate so well to eachothers annoying and unfortunate pee problem! Then she drove home and called me and we layed in our beds talking till a little after 2am! It was so much fun, but I paid for it when I had to get up at 6:30am to get ready for clinic! It was all worth it! I had such a fun night with no kids. That was the first time I had ever slept in our house with nobody...kinda weird. I'm just sad I didn't get to sleep in.
