insomnia at it's best (or is that worst?)

9:55 pm- bed. toss and turn for a bit and fall fast asleep.
11:02 pm- wake up and pee. SO thirsty, get a drink.
1:00 am- wake up, pee, SO thirsty, get a little drink.
2:01 am- Ellie comes in crying because she peed a little. I help her change and find out it was not just a little. Lay towel down over pee spot, get new blanket, tuck her in and call it good. Go pee (didn't even really have to go that much this time), go back to bed.
2:24 am- roll over to check time.
2:24-3:34 am- toss and turn wondering how much longer it will take to fall asleep this time. Lots of topics/people enter my mind. I have scenerios and conversations running through my head until it all comes to a hault when I feel very impressed to get up and write a letter. Hmmm, seriously? No. I'm going to fall asleep any minute. Toss and turn. Reluctantly get out of bed. Grab pen and paper and any magazine I could find for my lap desk. Write out what needs to be said. Read it over twice. Wow, that actually sounds pretty good. Tuck into my top drawer plop back down into bed. oh yeah, and I peed.
4:30 am- last look at the clock before I fall asleep while thinking, "I'm so proud I got something important done instead of lay in bed and cry and feel sorry for myself, cuz here we go again." (my insomnia has gotten progressively worse with each pregnancy. This time it started 2 months earlier than usual. boo-hoo for me.)

6:30 am- wake up to alarm clock. I slept so comfy and sound that it felt like only 20 minutes. Pushed snooze.

7:07 am- Peyton comes in and climbs in on Chris' side. Tell Chris about my sleepless night. Get out of bed, hating 8:30 church, and take a much needed shower, ahhhh.

8:37 am- walk out the door for church. Made it in time for the sacrament, yes!

9:50 am- tell Chris I'm going home and taking a nap.

10:00 am- strip and crawl into bed.

10:43 am- last look at the clock before I fall fast asleep, ahhhh.

11:15 am- wake up. What already?! I still have 30 minutes before everyone comes in fighting and being obnoxiously too loud! Oh, well, Tylenol PM will be my friend tonight.

I suffer badly from the insomnia, ug even befor I had kids, such a joke, I too have cried it out. My doc said a strict schedual and a little chamomile tea have helped alot. my routine it a quick shower (not so much to clean just relax) my tea and a book for 15-20 then to sleep. my room as to be so dark, even the light from my clock it to bright (so it is on the floor) best of luck

Ah!! Me to! Except your good and went to church.. I would just try to sleep right through it! It has been alot better since I had her.. okay after she was a few months old and I only get it ocassionaly now. I just take a shower watch the 10 pm law and order bc I know if I go to bed any earlier I will just lay awake for hours.. wait till I'm about to fall asleep on the couch and then proceed to bed. Good luck! I feel your pain.

So sad and sounds all too familiar. We should get up and chat during the night because I'm pretty much up all night too! I think it helps prepare us for when the baby comes so it's not such a shock to be waking up every hour! Good luck and take a nap!

Tylenol PM is my friend as well...took one of those last night! I am feeling for you though...I do hope you get in a nap or better night sleep soon! I know that is what scares me the most about having another baby...is the lack of sleep thing after the lil one gets here. I am not able to function without sleep! I hope you can!

Bless your heart! I feel your pain about the peeing & the dying of thirst, but not quite the insomnia. I hope that doesn't happen this go around. Ever heard about Unisom? It's a "sleeping aid" & safe during pregnancy. My doctor prescribed it with vitamin B6 for nauseousness. Who knew? Give it a shot.

I love the play by play, oh the joys of pregnancy, what we do to get these sweet little ones here. Hopefully the tylenon pm worked.

Go tylenol PM!! I am hooked on benadryl myself. I've quit taking it the past few nights, m0y allergies have gotten better lately. But the night time pee-ing has started again...so annoying.
